Location: Scotland, Central Belt

Project Duration: Minimum 5 years

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and infrastructure development? A Tier 1 contractor is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager/Director to lead the design and execution of a transformative renewables project in Scotland’s Central Belt.


About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a landmark renewables project, encompassing infrastructure development and overhead lines. You will oversee a talented design team, ensuring the delivery of innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary design team, fostering collaboration and excellence.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle from conceptual design to execution, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Provide technical leadership on civil engineering aspects, particularly infrastructure and overhead lines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, driving best practices in safety and sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) – Chartered status is advantageous.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong infrastructure background.
  • Proven track record managing design teams on complex projects, ideally within the renewables or energy sector.
  • Experience with overhead lines and large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of design processes, project delivery methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
