Full Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Cleaner/Janitor to join our Glasgow Schools account in Hillhead High school, 22-44 Oakfield Ave, Glasgow G12 8LJ. This role is on site based. Salary £13.16 per hour The standard hours of work are 30 Hours Per Week: (Shift pattern is 6hrs a day 09:00am-15:00pm Monday - Friday Amey work in partnership with the local council and schools across Edinburgh to deliver facilities management services include cleaning, caretaking and building maintenance. We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools. You will be responsible for:
- Ensure smooth running of the school premises
- Undertake role in a professional and safe manner at all times
- Work according to best practice guidelines I.E. ensuring the correct use of colour coded equipment
- Comply with Internal and External HSEQ requirements RAMs and COSHH
- Provide a cleaning service that delivers to our client contractual requirements
- Use of Amey approved chemicals, machinery and consumables only
- Operate machinery safely and in line with the guidelines and training provided
- To deliver good customer engagement ensuring client satisfaction
- To report any concerns or issues to the supervisor immediately for action e.g. broken equipment
- Ensure that all duties are completed within the time provided to the Amey defined standards
- To attend and engage in briefings and training sessions, potential requirement of additional hours.
- On occasion you may be required to carry out deep cleaning activity, use of larger cleaning equipment may be required
- Carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by your line manager
- Checking the premises to guard against vandalism
- Porterage throughout the building
- Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
- Litter picking and general clearing of external and internal areas
Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair - Good Team Player
- Flexible with shift work
- Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
- This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
