Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed-term post for 2 months (potential to extend contract).

We have Clinical Fellow post available at ST1 level and above to commence in December 2024.

The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) is a large central teaching hospital in the south of Glasgow providing a wide range of secondary acute care services for a population of 560,000 (including a number of specialist tertiary services for residents across Scotland). The Division has a sound academic and research base and an excellent teaching reputation with close links to the University of Glasgow.

You will join a large team of junior doctors in the department of medicine for the elderly. These posts have not been approved for Training purposes by NES. However, the department has an enthusiastic team of consultants and an education faculty which will support you in your development during this post. All successful candidates will be allocated an educational supervisor and will be eligible to apply for Scottish Online Appraisal Resource (SOAR) account, which will be used as a record of clinical experience and skills gained during this post.

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC full registration and a licence to practice.
