Full Job Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is Mon Fri 8.30-8pm.
This post holder by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience, function as an autonomous practitioner within a multi-professional team to ensure the provision of accessible, high standard, culturally sensitive and effective person centred Sexual and Reproductive Health care across all Sandyford services. As a registered nurse, the post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team and deliver a range of skilled Sexual & Reproductive Health Care interventions including: fitting and removal of contraceptive implants and intra uterine devices: testing and treatment, including symptomatic screening and asymptomatic contacts, of sexually transmitted infections and blood borne viruses along with partner notification and other health advising interventions.
The post holder will provide mentorship, support to pre and post registration medical & nursing students and staff new to the role.
