Full Job Description

Our Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This role will be based in our Inverness office and will be available on a hybrid basis within 3-6 months of completed training. This Role:

  • As the service has evolved, we have been introducing new ways of working and there is now a unique opportunity for Nurses to perform high quality telephone assessments, but also to provide Clinical Supervision to members within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Act as an autonomous practitioner providing a comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessment service to patients and/or their carers/relatives resulting in a safe and appropriate clinical decision.
  • Provide real time clinical support to NHS 24 frontline staff resulting in safe, appropriate, and person-centred outcomes.
  • Facilitate the provision of accurate healthcare information, self-care/health improvement advice or, where applicable, referral to the appropriate level and location of care, in order to meet the holistic and therapeutic requirements of the patient/carer
  • You will use a variety of different models to deliver clinical supervision to non- clinical staff.

  • You will be registered as an Adult nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register
  • You will possess excellent clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to provide continuous clinical supervision and leadership
  • Extensive post registration experience, preferably within an acute or primary care setting, with a broad range of knowledge across a number of specialties
  • Critical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hybrid Working Requirements
  • Be self-disciplined with excellent time management.
  • When home working, ensure a private space is available where employees cannot be interrupted from distractions and ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
  • NHS 24 will provide equipment for home working however the employee must ensure all equipment or work materials are stored securely and unable to be accessed by others.

  • Upon completion of training and 3-6 months of office-based working, Hybrid Clinical Supervisors will gradually work up to contracted hours being equally split between home working and office working in our Inverness centre.
  • Our Enhanced Salary Package NHS 24 offers a total reward package, with a permanent contract on Band 6 £39,912 - £48,635
  • (pro rata for part-time hours). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
  • Competitive salary enhancements for working unsocial hours are in addition to the above basic starting salary of £37,831, this means that the following hourly rates would be applicable -
  • Basic Hourly Rate of £20.68
  • Saturday / After 8pm Weekday Hourly Rate of £31.03
  • Sunday / Public Holiday Hourly Rate of £41.37, Hours are worked on average across an 8 week rota pattern.
  • 24hrs - 5/8 weekends
  • 30hrs - 5/8 weekends
