Would you like to join an established and dynamic team of nurses and support workers who are passionate about giving the best care possible to people with a diagnosis of cancer in the Highlands of Scotland?
Cancer care is a rewarding speciality with rich opportunities to develop your skills within a friendly team.
As a band 3 support worker, your daily work will include obtaining peripheral blood tests, taking and recording clinical observations, completing ITR requests, and helping schedule appointments.  You will also support the oncology clinics through note taking, patient information giving and referrals to other support and services.
No cancer experience is necessary, but a genuine interest in cancer care is essential. You would be fully supported as your skills develop, with a range of training opportunities available and experienced staff on hand.
You will be based in The Macmillan Suite in Raigmore Hospital, our dedicated area for administering day case SACT therapies such as chemotherapy, and the main base for our oncology clinics.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
