Full Job Description

Wood is looking for applications from experienced Commercial Advisors to join our busy Commercial function in Aberdeen working on one of our Upstream contracts. We offer flexible hybrid working. With a positive growth strategy, Wood has a number of exciting and challenging projects within its Operations EMEA business and as a result has a number of dynamic opportunities within its Commercial function. As a function the commercial team are dedicated to ensuring best in class in contractual and commercial administration through championing Woods Financial Management Framework in all its aspects. The Commercial Advisor role is a key role in a project team and we're looking for a proactive, flexible, and energetic individual to join the team and develop their career with Wood.   • At a high level, the job objectives are, under supervision:
  • Maximise commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre and post-contract)
  • Commercialisation of a sub-Business Groups service offerings to support business growth and
  • strategy
  • Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
  • Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
  • Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group / Project
  • / Portfolio of Projects
  • Supporting the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group, Promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviours
  • Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity
  • Champion and promote the application of the Financial Management Framework guidelines
  • Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies
  • Assists and delivers under supervision:
  • Pre-award activities including support to the proposals team in terms of performing a commercial
  • review of tender documents, reviewing commercial proposals prior to submission for internal approval, preparing commercial qualifications and pricing notes, coordinating commercial and contractual qualifications,
  • defined activities within the Tender governance process
  • the development of rates, estimates, pricing, and commercial models
  • the administration of risk management processes pre and post contract
  • the management and administration of Bonds / LoCs, Collateral warranties and PCGs
  • the timely and accurate submission of contracting policy approval requests, in conjunction with the
  • Contracts function
  • main contract administration, including correspondence management, management of change and the development/implementation of commercial strategies and profit improvement plans in accordance with client contracts and Woods policies and procedures.
  • the administrative maintenance of delegations of authority (DOA) and processing of DOA approvals
  • the administrative development and maintenance of Commercial Handovers and Plans
  • the preparation of project cashflow forecasts, expenditure, invoice preparation, and expediting of
  • payments
  • the preparation and analysis of inputs to key contract and internal project reporting requirements
  • the preparation of main contract close-out requirements
  • Assists and supports under supervision:
  • the coordination of contract reviews and the development of qualifications/redlines in conjunction
  • with the Contracts function
  • information/data gathering and analysis required to support Woods assertive claims and/or
  • defending claims against Wood

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, along with appropriate professional qualification (preferred)
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Good working knowledge and experience in commercial administration and procedures
  • Experience in drafting and interpretation of commercial documentation
