Full Job Description
The role requires a collaborative approach with close teamwork and/or embedded ways of working with all Divisions across the organisation. This is central to our purpose and culture and is critical to this role. To ensure the BBC acquires, creates and distributes Intellectual Property (IP) to maximise audience value and commercial return in a digital, global and commercial environment by:
- Delivering and implementing commercial, rights and business affairs activities.
- Implementing and ensuring compliance with rights policies and frameworks.
- Contracting and assisting with negotiation of complex deals.
The ideal candidate will be able to keep up with ever-changing schedules, manage last minute requests, and work collaboratively to negotiate, acquire, and clear rights in BBC content and understand the needs of the Public Service. This role requires someone who is confident in managing a busy workload, working to tight deadlines, and who can support the iPlayer team by providing a first class legal and business affairs service. WHAT DOES IT TAKE? Key criteria: - Knowledge of, and experience in, broadcast and digital media.
- Contracting and copyright experience.
- Proven influencing, persuading or negotiating skills.
- Experience of developing and maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to examine and summarise complex data.

Salary: £up to 37,000.00 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. (The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
