Full Job Description
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced, talented and creative communications professional to join our communications team. We are currently based in Stirling, but hybrid working is the norm.
NHS Forth Valley provides a wide range of hospital and community-based health services in Central Scotland, covering the communities served by Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Councils, with a workforce of more than 8,000 staff. The communications team provides a comprehensive range of internal and external services so broad communications experience, the ability to build relationships quickly and navigate a complex environment will be essential.
We are looking for someone who can evidence sound editorial judgement to bring sharp focus to a complex picture in any number of situations. You will have experience in planning and delivering impactful campaigns and the ability to manage a portfolio of responsibilities. Outstanding communication and writing skills, a solid grasp of the political context in which the NHS operates, and good media relationships are a must.
You will work on a variety of projects; planning, designing, and delivering communications plans and promotional campaigns as well as organising high-profile visits and events. Providing expert communications advice and support for staff across the organisation is an important feature of this role as well as handling media and communications issues, in and out-of-hours, on a rotational basis.
With a degree in PR, media communications, journalism or the equivalent on the job experience, you will be a confident, motivated individual with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
If you are calm under pressure, versatile and thrive on the unexpected, you can make an impact in this role working for one of the nations most loved and high-profile institutions. We look forward to hearing from you.
