Full Job Description

Location: Home-based

Salary: £26,000 per annum pro rata

Contract: Part time two days per week – hours may be worked flexibly

About the Role

ASVA is looking for a Communications Officer to help elevate the profile of Scotland’s attractions. You’ll develop and implement communication strategies, manage content for the website, including news and training materials, and create engaging social media content. Key responsibilities include curating content for newsletters, trade mailshots, and emails, as well as managing the Scottish Attractions News and Ezine. You will also support event communications, monitor performance, and represent ASVA at key industry events. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a small team and contribute to the success of Scotland’s world-class attractions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the communications strategy for ASVA.
  • Manage and update content for Scottish Attractions News, website, and training materials.
  • Create and curate engaging social media content.
  • Provide communication support for conferences and events.
  • Represent ASVA at industry events and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and analyse trade mailshots, providing follow-up reports.
  • Curate content for newsletters, social media, emails, and the Ezine.
  • Monitor communication performance, generate reports, and respond to feedback.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Experience in communications, content creation, and event coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for managing internal and external relationships.
  • A good understanding of content management, social media, and website updates.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to represent ASVA at events.
  • Flexibility to travel as required for the role.
