Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Community Addiction Worker based at Caley Court.

What you will do:

You will be part of the wider NADARS, Health and Social Care team including prescribing staff, to deliver a safe and effective treatment and care service for complex drug and alcohol dependant clients across North Ayrshire, whilst working in partnership with statutory and non-statutory services

You will also support the roll out and provide continuity of care in line with the Scottish Governments Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You will require to have a degree, or equivalent knowledge, in a relevant area e.g. health or social care.  A post graduate qualification relating to alcohol and drug use is desirable.  It is essential that the post holder has experience of working in the field of addictions and of working in a related community setting.

Experience of working in needle exchange services is desirable as is experience in the delivery of training.  The post holder will have an in-depth knowledge of addiction related theory and practice.  The post holder will have superior communication skills.

You with have management responsibility for less experienced members of staff and will provide cover for the Services Team Manager in their absence, as required, whilst also providing cover for colleagues as appropriate, to ensure the smooth operation of the service.

Hours: These permanent posts are a full time post of 37 hours per week and a part time post of 22.3 hours per week.

You will be able to work evening and weekends if required. 

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
