Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Community Health Addiction Charge Nurse at Ailsa Hospital. What you will do: You will be responsible for the comprehensive clinical assessment, implementation and evaluation of treatment and support for individuals who are experiencing chaotic, harmful illicit drug use within South Ayrshire. Helping to prevent the onward transmission of Blood Borne Viruses by providing specialist interventions including H.I.V, Hepatitis B and C testing, counselling and support, needle exchange delivery and basic wound care. You will provide a comprehensive range of physical and asymptomatic sexual health testing, advice, support and treatment whilst utilising best evidence and best practice guidelines liaising and working in conjunction with partner organisations.

  • First level Registered General Nurse is essential.
  • Experience of working in the field of Addictions is essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sexual health and blood borne viruses is essential.
  • Superior communication skills is essential, Please note, for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
