This post is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join an established service subject to ongoing development. 

The successful applicant will be joining an integrated service and must be able to work independently, under the support and guidance of a Band 6 nurse.  The team consists of nursing staff, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists and medical staff.  There will be a requirement to construct links with other statutory and non-statutory agencies as well as engage with the public to enhance and improve the service. 

You will require a good knowledge of mental health conditions affecting older people and manage a caseload under the supervision of a senior nurse and in some cases allied professionals.  The post holder is responsible for assisting with the promotion and ongoing development of the community psychiatric nurse service in all aspects of mental health care in the community. 

The post holder will hold a dedicated caseload.  Applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with older people with mental health problems.  This is a 7 day service operating between the hours of 9am 5pm and the successful applicant will be expected to work at weekends.
