Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer to join our supportive and dynamic Quality Team, on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be organised and decisive, have demonstrable experience of internal and external audits including planning and supporting the teams to ensure a positive outcomes and be passionate about protecting our vulnerable clients. The scope of this role is to work as part of the Migrant Help Quality Team to ensure compliance against our certifications and accreditations, including ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO45001 and Advice Quality Standard, and to support continued certification against these standards. This includes carrying out regular checks and audits to verify procedures are effective and are adhered to at all times, as well as liaising with our external auditors and certification body. You are expected to work closely with operational and support services teams to ensure compliance and to raise awareness and understanding of the standards and accreditations across the organisation. As the Compliance Officer your duties would include:

  • Carry out regular checks, assessments and internal audits as scheduled, creating thorough audit reports with relevant findings raised.
  • Identify root causes of any non-conformances and create improvement plans to ensure non-conformances are addressed and rectified.
  • Maintain the Integrated Management System and ensure its continuous effectiveness and relevance within the organisation, this includes, but is not limited to, maintaining the Corrective Actions Log, Risk Register, Legal Register, Objectives, Performance Monitoring, etc.
  • Be the point of contact for external audits, preparing the teams, coordinating dates and availability, communicating any relevant information and attending the audits with the operational leads.
  • Organise the monthly IMS meetings and biannual Management Review Meeting, this includes gathering discussion points, preparing the agenda, making minutes, and updating the action log.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams, specifically our IT, Facilities and Health and Safety Teams, to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure any new projects, processes, teams and offices adhere to the relevant requirements.
  • Support with any relevant submissions to contracting authorities within the set deadlines.
  • Create and maintain relevant training, as well as introducing new starters to the requirements set out in our certifications and accreditations.
  • Keep up to date with legislation, regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties which may be assigned by the Head of Quality.
  • The experience and skills you need:
  • Experience of external audits, including organising, planning and supporting the teams to ensure a positive outcome.
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of ISO standards, specifically relating to ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO27001
  • Excellent internal auditing skills, including planning, active listening, professional skepticism, understanding new information, report writing and root-cause analysis
  • Ability to identify, assess and review risks
  • What else to expect:
  • Our Quality Team operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
  • This is a homebased role however there is a requirement for travel to our various UK offices for meetings and training opportunities., Migrant Help is committed to safeguarding those we provide a service to, applicants will have to undergo strict vetting procedures throughout different stages of the recruitment process.
