Compliance Technician
- Location: Edinburgh
- Salary: 14 per hour

Reed Recruitment are seeking an experienced Compliance Technician to join our clients Facilities team in Edinburgh. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and functionality of our facilities, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and school policies, and providing general maintenance and transport management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Compliance Tasks:
- Conduct necessary compliance checks and tests including fire safety, legionella control, and vehicle safety, ensuring all actions are verified and recorded.
- Regularly carry out and update fire safety practices.
- Work closely with the Facilities Coordinator and Head of Estates and Operations to maintain and update policies and procedures.
- Delegate tasks to team members or external contractors as needed.
- Minibus Driving and Transport Management:
- Drive the minibus for scheduled routes and ad-hoc requirements.
- Perform regular vehicle checks and maintain vehicles in good condition.
- Maintenance:
- Perform general maintenance tasks, both planned and reactive, to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.

- Other Facilities Tasks:
- Assist with room setups, furniture moving, and portering.
- Manage traffic and supervise road crossings.
- Provide escort and oversight of external contractors.
- Handle unlocking and locking up of buildings.
- Support grounds tasks such as gritting and snow clearing when needed.
- Offer ad-hoc out-of-hours security support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general maintenance and compliance tasks.
- Full driving licence and D1 driving licence (PSV).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Positive and enthusiastic with a professional attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
