The aim of Network Rail’s Property function in Scotland is to drive value for passengers, customers, community and our assets through the delivery of property services and advice to support the safe & efficient operation of Scotland’s railway. In order to realise the vision, we will;

  • We are looking to recruit a Construction and Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee the physical asset management aspect of our business across a wide variety of commercial property assets as we seek to drive value from the portfolio. This role, which is new to Scotland reports to the Region’s Property Director and forms part of the leadership team. Please note, interviews for this role are likely to take place early 2025.About the role (External) Here are some of the duties your role will include: - · Manage the Commercial Property maintenance and construction strategy, budget and initiatives programme. · Provide professional leadership and adequate briefing to the team on professional and standards matters such that the team achieves compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations. · Provide strategic advice on all matters relating to the maintenance and construction of Network Rail’s Commercial Property assets. Manage the provision of technical and professional building advice to the route estates. · Manage the consistent delivery of the renewals and planned, cyclical maintenance programmes. · Manage the relationship with all maintenance delivery organisations and related professional support consultants providing services to Commercial Property. Where necessary, recommend areas for delivering improvements and liaise with the Contracts & Procurement function to effect optimal changes to contracts. · Develop and manage implementation of the maintenance business plan for Commercial Property. · Manage property maintenance in compliance with statutory legislation, best practice and professional principles to improve and fulfil budgetary and company obligations. · Manage the production of appropriate remits for major maintenance items and initiatives. · Liaise with the Network Rail territories such that there is efficient and effective implementation of maintenance where there is a joint interest. · Undertake under CDM Regulations, as role of Client Representative, Designer and CDM Co-ordinator on behalf of Network Rail in line with company standards.

    · Educated to degree level or equivalent. · MRICS qualified · Proven people management skills · Proven experience of buildings maintenance · Proven experience of preparing and managing budgets · Proven experience of managing contractors and consultants It’s desirable if you have it to help give you context to the role: - · Demonstrable post-qualification experience · Full Driving Licence #LI-SY1

    Salary: Starting at £85,395 and rising to £96,070 per annum
