The Roles
Consultant posts in General Adult Psychiatry are available within the South, East and West Community Mental Health Teams in the Scottish Borders. The successful applicants will lead the General Psychiatry service for these Sectors of the Scottish Borders, delivering care and promoting a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency approach. As part of the General Adult Psychiatry jobplans, if desired, sessions can be available to lead the established and embedded Perinatal Service or to take a new leadership role in Medical Psychotherapy.
Candidates must hold MRC Psych or equivalent higher qualification and must also be fully registered and licensed to practice on the Specialist Register (for General Psychiatry) with the General
Council or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview. Candidates should also be an Approved Medical Practitioner or willing to gain approval once in post.
