Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

An opportunity exists for a substantive Consultant Plastic Surgeon to join the team within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clydes Plastic Surgery Unit.
This post is primarily directed towards treatment of skin cancers requiring Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery input. Accordingly the main emphasis of the job description is towards contributing to and developing the skin cancer service in the West of Scotland, and an applicant with an interest in this area would be welcomed. Candidates should have experience in the management of benign and malignant skin lesions, including Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, Nodal dissections and extensive experience in skin lesion excision and reconstruction.
However, there is also a requirement for additional consultant coverage within the unit to support the gynaecology oncology reconstruction/perineal service and any candidate with an additional sub-speciality interest/experience in this area would be welcomed.
Successful candidates would be expected to join the adult and paediatric trauma on call rota.
