Full Job Description

Applicants with established independent ability in Holmium Prostatic enucleation ( HOLEP ) are invited for a new Whole Time Consultant Urological Surgeon post working within NHS Fife. The successful candidate will be able to take a lead role in the delivery of the HOLEP service along side a wide range of minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). 

The successful candidate will join a nationally recognised centre of excellence in BPH treatment and an established team of 9 consultants in NHS Fife where all subspecialty areas are supported and delivered in an exceptionally cohesive and supportive environment. 

Additionally, they will also have a thorough training in all aspects of General Urology and be able to explore and develop further subspecialty interests and service developments locally.

Research participation will be encouraged with excellent opportunities to collaborate with St Andrews University as well as other nearby institutes. They will be part of a 1 in 9 oncall covering adult and adolescent emergencies.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
