Full Job Description

The department of orthopaedics at NHS Golden Jubilee is one of the largest arthroplasty units in the United Kingdom, with 25 Consultants in post. The department performs ~3750 total hip and knee replacements, 600 foot and ankle procedures as well as soft tissue knee and hand/wrist surgery. There is an established enhance recovery programme, and a robotics programme with 2 MAKO robots. We also provide a tertiary revision arthroplasty service and have a large research department including industry funded research and use of a motion analysis lab.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop services at NHSGJ in purpose built new facilities as part of our Phase 2 elective expansion programme with 5 additional laminar flow theatres to add to our existing 6 theatres.

Applicants must be registered with the General Medical Council, be listed on the Specialist Register (or eligible to be on the specialty register i.e. within 6 months of CCT OR CESR application submitted) and hold a higher surgical qualification in Orthopaedics from one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons or equivalent, if from out with the UK.
