Consultant Paediatrician 

NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across Lanarkshire in community paediatrics, working with both renal and continence service as well. This is a substantive post arisen from retirements. The post holder will work across community services, lead the continence team and be the link person with renal team.  We see this as an opportunity to further develop community paediatric services and to continue to develop as a centre of excellence in secondary paediatric care. 

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis with breakdown being 8 Direct Clinical Care and 2 Supporting Professional Activity, subject to confirmation and approval of the final job plan. Applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. It has an oncall commitment to Child Protection rota.

In this post the successful candidate will have Community Child Health clinic, continence and renal clinics. Community clinics will involve seeing children with common problems such neurodevelopmental disorders, sleep and developmental delay.  The successful candidate will also be the link person for the renal service and lead for the continence service.

The Community Child Health Service is a Lanarkshire wide service currently provided from Health Centres and Community clinics throughout the area.  There are currently 5 Consultant Community Paediatricians (2 with a remit in both Community and General Paediatrics) with further service delivery by 2 Specialty Doctors.  3 Paediatricians are involved with care experienced children.

The continence service is going through a modernisation process developing a more enhanced service and ensuring a multidisciplinary approached is achieved.  The successful candidate will be involved in development of this service.  They will also be the link Paediatrician for renal services with the Glasgow team.

Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practise, membership of the RCPCPH, be registered with the GMC and on the specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT or be awarded CESR at the time of interview.
