Senior Solicitor / Associate (2-7 PQE) – Contentious Construction

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Job Type: Permanent
Experience Level: 2-7 years PQE

 

Are you an experienced solicitor with a passion for construction disputes and a desire to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solicitor/Associate to join our Litigation/Contentious Construction team, working on complex, high-value cases and advising a diverse range of clients in both the public and private sectors.

 

The Role
As a Senior Solicitor or Associate in our Contentious Construction team, you will:

  • Work closely with our partners to provide strategic advice on complex construction disputes.
  • Represent clients in a range of formal dispute resolution proceedings, including mediation, adjudication, litigation, and arbitration.
  • Handle a wide variety of contentious claims and insurance disputes, providing clients with tailored advice that aligns with their commercial objectives.
  • Engage with existing clients while helping the team to develop new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the team’s marketing initiatives, draft thought leadership content, and deliver presentations at industry seminars.
  • Assist in mentoring and developing junior members of the team, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in contentious construction with a strong understanding of the complexities of the construction industry.
  • Excellent advocacy, analytical, and drafting skills, with the ability to present clear, commercially-focused advice to clients.
  • A collaborative mindset and a track record of working effectively within a team.
  • Strong client relationship skills, ensuring regular, proactive communication and understanding client priorities.
  • A self-motivated, organised approach with the ability to manage tight deadlines and complex caseloads.
  • Enthusiasm for developing new business and contributing to the team's growth.
