We have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor/Senior Solicitor with at least 2 years post-qualification experience (2PQE+) to join our Construction and Engineering team. The role is focused on litigation and contentious construction matters. You will work alongside partners, advising clients in both the public and private sectors, including developers, contractors, consultants, insurers, and funders. The role offers the chance to engage with high-value and complex construction disputes across Scotland, as well as England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and analysing evidence, including client documents and witness statements, to build strong legal arguments.
  • Advising clients on the merits of their cases, offering strategic guidance for effective dispute resolution.
  • Drafting pleadings and submissions for various dispute resolution forums, including court, mediation, adjudication, and arbitration.
  • Representing clients in court and alternative dispute resolution settings.
  • Engaging in settlement negotiations and ensuring favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Supporting the team’s marketing efforts, including drafting thought leadership content and participating in seminars.
  • Mentoring trainees and contributing to the team’s development.
  • Managing case finances effectively and maintaining regular client communication.

About You:
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is:

  • Experienced in contentious construction matters, with strong knowledge of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Client-focused, able to tailor advice to meet client needs and maintain regular communication.
  • Organised and efficient, capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • An excellent communicator, presenting arguments clearly and confidently.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate on larger cases and provide mentorship.
  • Motivated and commercially aware, with a focus on achieving successful outcomes for clients.

What We Offer:

  • A role in a growing and ambitious firm with opportunities for career advancement.
  • The chance to work on a diverse range of high-value construction disputes.
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment that values courage, character, and care.
  • Opportunities to contribute to business development and thought leadership.

If you are enthusiastic about contentious construction work and have a passion for delivering exceptional client service, we would love to hear from you.
