Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in Amtech and Dialux software to join our team on an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems, performing calculations, and ensuring that designs comply with all relevant standards and regulations for various building and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems, using Amtech for electrical calculations and Dialux for lighting design.
Perform detailed electrical load calculations, fault analysis, and cable sizing using Amtech software.
Create detailed lighting designs and layouts in Dialux, ensuring compliance with lighting standards and project specifications.
Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other design disciplines to ensure the integration of electrical systems with the overall project design.
Prepare and review electrical design drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Ensure all designs meet the relevant British Standards, BS 7671 (18th Edition), and IET Wiring Regulations, or local codes where applicable.
Provide technical support to clients, contractors, and construction teams during the design and installation phases of the project.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, with a strong background in designing electrical systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
Proficiency in Amtech for electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and fault current analysis.
Expertise in Dialux for lighting design and planning, with a good understanding of lighting standards.
Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition) and IET Wiring Regulations or equivalent local regulations.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and integrate electrical designs accordingly.
Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs.
