Full Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and hands-on (Contract) Game Economy Designer to work on a new game concept and help shape, define and bring to life our game vision, mechanics and economy. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with our Creative Director and Game Lead to help develop & define a number of our game systems, through simulation and iteration. Spreadsheets, simulations, and data will be your tools as you aim to visualise and validate systems and methods and take a fun concept into the next stage of its lifecycle. This role is a contract position working with an early stage game development team. Responsibilities
- Translate product and design vision into initial versions of economy and balancing models, simulations, and resulting inputs.
- Create and maintain simulations to validate, iterate and perfect systems and mechanics to allow us to hit our player experience and business goals
- Help shape the overall direction of the game by providing actionable game economy insights
- Draw inspiration from the broader F2P market and bring exciting new initiatives to the table
Significant experience working in systems/economy design or product management in a live service game - Strong technical skills in modelling game economies through spreadsheets and/or more advanced simulations
- Understanding and ownership of how the interaction of systems and currencies affects the holistic experience of the game.
- Experience balancing game systems and mechanics to achieve player experience and business goals
- Expertise in virtual economies with proven experience in designing and modelling systems, items, characteristics, price points, sources, and sinks
- Strong analytical skills and experience in drawing insights from complex data
- Ability to work closely with a cross-discipline game team including game designers, product managers, developers, data scientists, and artists
- Experience working with simulations tools such as Machinations, Figma etc.
- Hands-on Unity experience is a plus.
