Full Job Description

Reporting to the FES General Manager, you will take ownership of the management of the onsite Hard Services team with direct responsibility for their performance and development. This team delivers preventative and responsive building repairs to our client Aegon UK based in Edinburgh. The role will include the successful management of several specialist sub-contractors who carryout specialist services to many complex systems throughout the building. 


The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Statutory compliance, Health & Safety, quality, contract compliance and performance. 

The ability to communicate at a senior level is essential as extensive liaison with the Aegon client and senior management is expected on a frequent basis. In addition, the ability to communicate complex technical issues in simple terms would be an advantage both in aural and written terms. 


This role may require ad hoc visits to various Aegon sites around the UK involving travel & overnight stays. 


Key Responsibilities 


• Statutory Compliance of the contract in all areas such as but not limited to LOLER, Fire Safety Regs. Pressure Vessels, Gas Regs, COSHH and Electrical compliance.

• Development of in-house team to meet contract requirements. 

• Fiscal responsibility for the overall delivery of both PPM and Reactive works 

• Management of the H&S within the Engineering function

• Attendance at Client meetings and assisting with both internal and external audits. 

• Input to Life Cycle planning and projects. 

• Record keeping such Logbooks both Electronic and Paper base, Floor plans and records, and on-site stock takes etc. 

• Assist with keeping CAFM system up to date and carryout annual reviews of asset numbers and plans. 

• Organising and planning of Sub-contractor attendance to site including access to restricted areas and out of hours working.

• Planning building shutdowns for maintenance and repair

• Recruitment of technical team members and Admin 

• Technical reporting 

• Assisting with building churn as required
