Job Overview:


We are looking for an experienced Contract Structural Design Engineer proficient in Tekla software to join our team on an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and detailing structural steel and concrete elements, ensuring the project meets all design specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and detail structural components (steel and concrete) using Tekla software in accordance with project requirements.
  • Perform structural analysis and develop accurate models, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards and building regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to integrate structural designs with other disciplines.
  • Prepare and review structural drawings and 3D models, ensuring precision and clarity for fabrication and construction teams.
  • Conduct load calculations and structural assessments to validate designs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of drawings and models, keeping to project schedules and deadlines.
  • Provide technical guidance and respond to queries from clients, contractors, and the construction team throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as a Structural Design Engineer, with a strong background in steel and concrete design.
  • Proficiency in Tekla software for both design and detailing.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and building design standards.
  • Ability to perform structural calculations and analysis using relevant software tools.
  • Familiarity with UK building codes and Eurocodes (or applicable local codes).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with other disciplines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate designs.
