The overall purpose of this role is to take ownership and responsibility for the development, operation, safety and availability of electrical and controls systems and equipment.

Responsibilities / Duties;
  • Drive continuous improvements to achieve excellence in performance and productivity.
  • Monitor reliability metrics and goals to drive performance improvements.
  • Troubleshooting, fault finding, updating and programming of control systems (PLC/HMI).
  • Providing a point of escalation for complex electrical issues which may arise.
  • Involvement in CAPEX and equipment improvement projects.
  • Contributing to the site engineering strategy to ensure optimised performance and availability of production equipment at all times.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to others regarding Automation, PLC and HMI.
  • Providing verification and qualification of equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of Ethernet networking systems.


The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have:
  • Minimum HND in Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering.
  • At least 5 years experience working in industry.
  • Past experience in FMCG / manufacturing desirable, but not essential.
  • Experienced working with Siemens PLC controls.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be customer focused.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work with the latest technologies.
