Summerford House Reablement service is a 27 bedded resource centre  providing  short term reablement care to adults over the age of 55 within the Falkirk area. Taking a “doing with” approach we support people to rebuild, retain or regain their skills and confidence – maximising independence to support a safe discharge home.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced cook with a passion for providing nutritious meals to older people to join our team providing short term reablement care.

You must have an Elementary and/or intermediate Food Hygiene certificate and/or a relevant catering qualification and have experience in the catering industry.

We would welcome an individual with experience of menu planning, knowledge of Cook Safe Procedures and of special dietary needs of older individuals.

A knowledge of aging and disability and an understanding of its effects on older individuals would be desirable.

A flexible, positive approach and an ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team is essential.

You will work 37 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a shift rota basis including weekends.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
