Full Job Description

Hours of work will be 37 hours per week, working either 8.00am - 4.00pm or 10.00am - 6.00pm. This will include weekend shifts. The Cook will form part of the Catering Team within the Care Home and Day Centre for older people. The post holder will assist the Catering Manager with the day to day operational requirements of the kitchen. Duties will Include, food preparation, cooking of nutritional meals and special diets, service of all foods and supervision of staff. The post holder will ensure that the cleaning, maintenance and checking of equipment are completed and relevant paper work is recorded and reported as required in order to comply with Cook Safe regulations. The successful candidate will have a REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate and SVQ2 or City and Guilds 706/1& 2 or equivalent.Requirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
