Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday (office hours and on call).

Full UK Driving Licence essential.

Post holder joins a Team of Estates Workforce who are professionally responsible for meeting the organisations key objectives, for the delivery of patient care by the provision of Effective, Efficient and Safe Operation & Maintenance of Estates Services & Systems.

Coordinates and Supervises Compliance with Statutory Requirements & Mandatory NHS Healthcare Standards & Guidelines, for the day-to-day operational activities of the Estates Department.

Coordinate, Supervise and participate in the use of FM First PPM & Reactive Maintenance System to ensure delivery of Statutory Compliance and Effective Repairs.

AP / CP for Essential Services Power, Lighting, Emergency Generators, Bed Head Services, Medical Gas, Heating & Ventilation Controls, Pressure Systems, Nurse Call Systems, Building Management Systems.

NHS delivers services around the clock and this post requires the successful candidate participates in maintaining an Operational On-Call System.

SVQ3 in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Maintenance including a National Certificate in a relevant subject or equivalent.

Equivalent qualifications will include City & Guilds 236 Part 2 Electrical Installation.

Certified in current edition of the IEE wiring regulations.

Completion of a recognised and registered apprenticeship as approved by the Modern Apprenticeship Implementation Group (MAIG) or equivalent.

Two years experience in a relevant Health Service environment or similar.
