Associate/Senior Associate/Tax Manager/Senior Manager - Corporate Tax
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh
Employment Type: Permanent

 

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate, Senior Associate, or Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager to join our highly regarded Corporate Tax team. Comprising solicitors, chartered accountants, and chartered tax advisors, our team delivers pragmatic and technically proficient advice on UK and Scottish taxes. You will play a pivotal role in advising on the tax implications of corporate, commercial, and property transactions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on tax structuring for corporate transactions and draft/negotiating transactional tax documentation.
  • Provide insights on SDLT/LBTT, VAT, and capital allowances, as well as the general tax structuring of property transactions.
  • Engage in tax planning for business owners and managers, including vendor tax planning and investment structuring.
  • Guide clients on devolved tax matters and the design and implementation of employee share incentives.
  • Advise on the tax structuring of investment funds and fund executive remuneration.
  • Present internal and external tax updates, client seminars, and webinars.
  • Collaborate with partners on business development initiatives and the implementation of team strategy.
  • Maintain adherence to information security policies to protect sensitive information.

 

Person Specification:

  • Ideally 4-8 years of PQE with relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Legally qualified or ATT/CTA qualified.
  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm for tax matters.
  • A pragmatic, commercial approach to transactions.
  • Active participation in business development activities within the team and the firm.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident, clear communicator who adapts style according to the audience.
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively while supervising less experienced colleagues.
  • Strong capacity to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to understand clients’ industries and the challenges they face.
