Cost Accountant

Eden Scott are delighted to be working with our growing client to help support the recruitment of an Accountant based in their Livingston office.

This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) requires on-site presence, with the benefit of an early finish on Fridays.

The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the direct report and the broader finance team in achieving cost-related business goals. Additionally, the successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying, developing, and implementing new processes to enhance operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is a PQ Accountant with prior experience in the FCMG industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and enhance the cost accounting function
• Review and improve accounting principles
• Provide guidance on inventory processes, with a strong understanding of inventory procedures
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare journal vouchers
• Analyse purchase price variances

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or a relevant degree in Accountancy
• Preferably, similar experience within the FMCG industry
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
