The Opportunity

You will play an essential role in ensuring the project and the offshore directorate budgets are well forecasted and managed.

What you'll be doingAs Cost Controller you will hold the responsibility for overseeing and managing project budgets, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting effective cost management strategies:

- Developing and issuing monthly cost and budget reporting in line with reporting timelines for projects and central budgets.
- Maintain overall project cost forecast against baseline budget for projects and central budgets.
- Prepare and establish the Cost Breakdown structure and Budget elements that align with the Work Breakdown Structure to provide consistency across Projects.
- Support the supplier invoicing processes - ensure proper WBS coding working closely with procurement to work to and develop further standardised processes.
- Maintain accurate forecasts which feed into cash flow forecasts.
- Securing monthly accruals from suppliers and support budget holders and project planner to align costs to milestones in order to conduct Earned Value Analysis
- Work closely with other project controls functions to develop integrated approaches to manage risk, cost, schedule. Support the project planner to implement resource integrated schedules as required.
- Track and manage contract commitments ensuring timely payments and compliance with contract obligations, with close collaboration between Procurement, Finance and Accounts Payable teams.
- Attend regular functional and project meetings and workshops, where required.

What do you need to be great at this role?You'll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be inquisitive and have a can-do attitude.

- Strong track record of leading cost control on large energy or infrastructure projects (experience at development and construction phase offshore wind farm projects preferred)
- Strong financial acumen and comfortable with cost engineering principles and methods including budgeting and forecasting, change management, management systems/procedures, cost and work breakdown structures, contingency management.
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
- Experience reporting to Joint Venture Partners (advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to think strategically and develop ways of working across the portfolio.
- An ability to be inventive and show determination to overcome challenges.
- Use of cost control software - SAP, Anaplan, PowerBi or any other commercial project cost control tools.
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint), being able to manage and manipulate information and data to be interpreted by different stakeholders.
