Job Advert

We are looking for an energetic, passionate and experienced professional to help shape the future of Falkirk’s Cultural Services and Green Spaces.

Working with the Senior Manager for Sport and Culture, your role will be to guide the future growth of an impressive range of assets including the Helix - Home of the Kelpies, Grade A-Listed Callendar House and Hippodrome Cinema, high profile parks including Callendar and Zetland Parks, extensive museum and archive collections and a land portfolio of around 1300 ha of play parks and open spaces.  You will also play a key role in the development and delivery of a new performing arts, library and civic space in the centre of Falkirk.

You will be responsible for the provision of leadership, financial and strategic direction and overseeing the management of high-quality programmes, growing income and ensuring excellent customer experiences in a range of settings which are welcoming, safe and fit for purpose.  You will be experienced in, and committed to, promoting the health and wellbeing value of our services and sites, and ensuring that they are accessible to all members of the community.

You will have a strong track record in management, excellent leadership qualities, strong interpersonal and business management skills and a thorough understanding of the key issues facing public services today.  You will possess excellent communication and presentation skills as well as being flexible, imaginative and be able to work as an advocate for the Council with a range of stakeholders and partners.

The person we have in mind for the role will be an inspirational leader with a background in arts, heritage or greenspace management and with a track record of developing dynamic cultural projects that broaden audience participation.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check.

If you have experience of leading and developing community focussed facilities and programmes which have sustainability and commercial thinking at their core, then we would be delighted to hear from you!

As a Falkirk Council employee, you will receive a generous holiday allowance, contributory pension and discounted access to our Health & Fitness facilities.

Falkirk Council strives to make positive impacts in our community, giving our people the best opportunity to live a rewarding life in a constantly changing and challenging world.

We are a team orientated, purpose driven and values-based organisation.  If you are looking to find meaning and connection with your work and you believe you are the right person to help us, please register with MyJobScotland for further information and to complete the online application form.
