Full Job Description
As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets) as part of a two-person delivery crew., Driver Trainee's key Responsibility:
Complete the 12 month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer by meeting the relevant criteria.
Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
Assist in loading your vehicle with the daily deliveries while collaborating with the warehouse team.
Show great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.
Maintaining a safe working environment.
Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential skills/experience you'll need as a CDH Driver Trainee:
UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
Have great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face.
Good understanding of technology and an interest in installation.
Desirable skills/experience you can bring to the Driver Trainee role:
Previous experience of inst allation and customer delivery driving
Driver Installer's key Responsibility:
Your day will see you start at the delivery hub where you are based before heading out on route where you're responsibilities will include:
Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.
Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
Showing great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
Maintaining a safe working environment

Essential skills/experience you'll need as a CDH Driver Installer:
Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points)
DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) by the first day in role and Tachograph Card.
Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face
Good understanding of technology.
Desirable skills/experience you can bring to the Installer role
Installation and disconnection of white goods.
TV installation.
Assembly of a flat pack.
