We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cyber Engineer to join our Cyber Security team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in leading the development and implementation of the security infrastructure that protects our organisation from various threats. As a Cyber Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the successful implementation of security technologies that protect the organisation from a wide range of threats, internal and external. In addition to leading the development and implementation of security systems and controls, you will be responsible for developing controls to monitor, manage, and maintain the security infrastructure, thereby playing a crucial role in safeguarding the organisation's data, assets, and overall cybersecurity posture. - Implement Cyber tooling solutions following defined process and standards, ensuring solutions are implemented effectively in cooperation with service owners and other technical teams.
- Acting as the Cyber lead for Cyber tooling showing expertise within a range of technologies. (Endpoint, Data, Network, Identity and Cloud)
- Develop Cloud security policies and process to mitigate cyber risk.
- Ensure Cyber project objectives and performance metrics are achieved.
- Conduct and participate in Cyber Security engineering design reviews.
- Work collaboratively with business and support functions, providing Cyber Security expertise.
- Manage business risk and compliance effectively, ensuring risks are fully understood, controlled, and mitigated in line with internal policies and procedures ensuring we meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop formal and informal Cyber Security Engineering documentation for all technologies and processes.
- Undertake product analysis and evaluation for suitable technologies.
- Good knowledge of programming/scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
- Provide support both technical and educational for the wider Cyber Security Team.
You have a strong analytical and methodical approach to solving technical challenges. - You possess a high level of accuracy and a dedicated work ethic.
- You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, along with effective communication and presentation abilities.
- You have hands-on experience with cyber security platforms from industry leaders, including EDR, SIEM, IPS, WAF, DLP, Identity & Data Management, and Network Security technologies. Experience with related infrastructure technologies is also acceptable.
- You have hands on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- You have hands on experience in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
- You have experience with ticketing platforms like ServiceNow.
- You have worked within a regulated environment in the financial services industry.
- You stay updated with industry best practices by attending security-related events and subscribing to cyber-related podcasts and papers.
- You can produce and maintain technical documentation related to security technologies.
- You maintain composure and professionalism in pressurised and uncertain situations.
- You take personal responsibility for self-development.
- You continually analyse and evaluate own performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Security qualifications such as ISC2 CISSP and CompTIA Security+ are preferred but not required.
