Job Description:
Harvey Nash's Pub Sec is initiating a significant programme of work in order to modernise its legacy technology estate known as the Core Systems Replacement project. A key project within the programme will focus on creating foundational cloud infrastructure assets within the Cloud Platform Service AWS platform to provide a scalable, secure, and resilient environment for deploying and managing cloud-based workloads. This includes designing and implementing core infrastructure and integration components such as virtual networks, IAM roles and policies, compute instances, storage, and security controls. By establishing these assets, we aim to enable efficient resource management, improve cost optimisation, and ensure compliance with industry best practices, setting a robust foundation for future cloud operations and integrations and support other platform deliveries from the Core Systems Replacement Project.
This position offers an opportunity to shape data quality and governance standards in a transformative Cloud Data Warehouse project, ensuring high-quality insights for the organization.
Specifically:
- Cloud integration infrastructure to support the ingestion and staging of Structured Data contained within the Oracle database estate operational systems.
- Systems and services to apply Data Quality and Retention processing rules.
You will ensure data quality, compliance, and usability throughout the Cloud Data Warehouse project. This role focuses on defining data quality standards, validating data processes, and acting as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Main Duties:
- Define the data quality metrics and standards that need to be implemented in the data quality services.
- Provide feedback on how data retention rules should be applied to meet business and compliance requirements.
- Validate the output of the data quality services to ensure it meets organizational needs.
- Offer insights into the data cleaning process to ensure it aligns with analytical use cases.
- Act as a liaison between the business stakeholders and technical teams for data-related requirements.
- Support the design and validation of dashboards and reports using the new data warehouse.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis and quality assurance.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with AWS data services (e.g., Redshift, Glue).
- Experience with data quality and data governance tools.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks related to data retention and privacy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
