Full Job Description
This role drives, coheres and manages the strategic data and digital risks for Defence Digital on behalf of the Chief Information Officer (CIO). You will be a single point of contact, as a risk SME, consulting with members of the Defence Digital senior leadership group on risk management activities and support chairing a Strategic Digital & Data Risk Committee, reporting to UKStratCom on risk management activities.
Responsibilities will include:
Drive, cohere and manage the strategic data and digital risks on behalf of the CIO.
Persuade and influence senior leaders about the importance of good risk management, governance and assurance.
Build positive risk management relationships with key stakeholders, including the wider departmental risk management community, ensuring that DD's approach reflects best practice.
Facilitate effective risk management governance throughout DD, supporting risk management committees at the senior and executive management levels.
Own risk reporting that provides strong insight to drive strategic decisions and discussion.
Ensure risk management activity is engaged with other governance mechanisms, including planning and performance activity.
Lead on the development, implementation and regular review of DD's approach to risk management and develop relevant improvement plans.
Provide expert advice and support to executive teams and business groups on all aspects of risk management.
Develop communication and upskilling tools to train staff in risk management across the DD organisation.
Deliver a positive impact on improving risk management, delivery of plans, value for money, securing good external relationships and enhancing organisational capability.
