Full Job Description

Eden Scott's client is seeking a knowledgeable and meticulous Defined Benefit (DB) Pension Administrator to join their office in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and high-quality administration for DB pension schemes, ensuring that all member records, calculations, and queries are handled professionally and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Defined Benefit pension schemes, including processing member events such as retirements, transfers, deaths, and leavers.
  • Maintain and update member records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with scheme rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform complex benefit calculations for members, including early retirements, transfer values, and pension increases.
  • Support the preparation of annual and periodic scheme events, such as benefit statements and pension increases.
  • Handle member and client queries with professionalism, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet agreed service levels and deadlines for administration tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and data for trustees, clients, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in DB pension administration with a strong understanding of scheme rules, processes, and calculations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data processing and record-keeping.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in pension administration software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to provide clear information to members, clients, and team members.
  • Knowledge of current pensions legislation and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
