Full Job Description

The Delivery Assistant supports the management of the safe and effective delivery of Route engineering access plans and possessions. They manage all aspects of pre-possession delivery enabling Routes to deliver work safely and efficiently with minimal disruption to train services.

They also support the investigation into all possession related incidents, providing comprehensive reporting on all possession safety and delivery activities., 1. Prepare and distribute possession delivery documentation.

2. Assist and support in the investigation and incident follow up as required.

3. Co-ordinate and assist in the delivery of pre-possession meetings.

4. Develop the weekly strategic plan communicating key activities, established risks and known contingencies.

5. Validate and reconcile all relevant transactions incurred in delivery and service of supply contracts.

6. Assist and support with the management of fleet vehicles for the team.

7. Assist and support with the identification and implementation of quality and efficiency improvements.

8. Assist and support in the identification of possession delivery resource profiles, production of robust roster arrangements and procurement of contract of resources and supplies.

9. Engage with Route wide stakeholders and customers and support with the coordination of their access requirements.

· Able to work under pressure.

· Able to prioritise and organise workload to ensure that deadlines are met.

· Able to demonstrate the ability to organise effectively.

· Displays a good attention to detail.

· Displays good communication skills and a customer focussed approach.

· Willing to learn to document all aspects of possession and worksite parameters.

· Good understanding of IT and operating of systems.

Desirable

· Knowledge of relevant railway geography and network capability.

· Knowledge of relevant train services and network capacity.

· Knowledge of Road Vehicle legislation process and procedures.

· Knowledge of accident and investigation procedures.

· Knowledge of factors and activities critical to efficient possession delivery.

· Knowledge of possession safety rules and regulations.

· Relevant successful experience in a frontline delivery operations role or delivery planning background.
