Full Job Description

This is an opportunity for a capable and experienced senior delivery manager to join our award winning practice. The successful candidate would join an existing team, to work primarily on a number of our existing digital products targeted at the cultural heritage, research, education and publishing organisations. More information on the products we currently provide can be reviewed on our website (https://cultural-heritage.digirati.com/). We are currently building new features and functionality for some of our core products (most of which are open source), partly informed by specific project requirements that we need to deliver for our existing clients and also areas that we have prioritised on our roadmaps to support extending and enhancing the products for new users. You'll get to understand our clients' user needs and goals, and that of the wider community in these domains and contribute to designing services that meet them. You'll be working as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, guiding and supporting them in an agile project delivery process. We are looking for someone who is experienced in delivery of products, ideally as part of a portfolio of related products, and who can work with multiple product (and at times project) teams, serving as the delivery manager for those teams. The candidate understands and can balance the challenging demands of enhancing and improving products whilst maintaining consistent, reliable products for existing users. What you'll do

  • Help drive ongoing delivery of iterative product releases through development, user acceptance testing and production environments
  • Identify improvements, remove impediments and focus the team on what is most important for the delivery of products and services
  • Manage and communicate daily with product team to plan and coordinate activities, assessing release timelines, support roadmap management, communication and responding to emerging changes
  • Facilitate and manage events including stand-ups, regular refinement activities, review, retrospective and sprint planning as appropriate
  • Encourage a culture of team-driven decision making and commitment.
  • Coach, lead and mentor team members and others within the organisation to apply the most appropriate Agile and Lean tools and techniques.
  • Manage client and stakeholder teams where appropriate, working collaboratively to agree prioritisation of work balancing resourcing, dependencies and other constraints
  • Introduce and champion improvements within the organisation that help drive Digirati forward as an effective, successful product development organisation
  • Commercial oversight, reviewing and tracking product delivery status against estimates, and reporting regularly with internal management and client management teams (as required)

3 or more years' experience in demanding delivery roles with product development teams
  • 5 or more years' experience in delivery management role(s) for enterprise level software projects
  • Demonstrable ability to lead software and product teams to successful delivery of projects, with strong knowledge of how large scale software systems are designed, built, tested, deployed and delivered to customers
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the principles of Agile and Lean methodologies, with a track record of innovation to improve delivery
  • Proven ability to work with your teams effectively, coaching them and guiding them to maximise their delivery output
  • Demonstrable ability to manage risk and complete actions to support addressing risks and issues in a timely, effective manner
  • Proven ability to identify dependencies in plans across roadmaps
  • Proven ability to communicate project status, timelines, key risks and issues with stakeholders and wider business teams as appropriate
  • Proven experience with commercial tracking and reporting of product and projects
  • Proven expertise in relevant product and project management tools including Github, Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Strong facilitation skills
