Full Job Description
As part of Legal and Democratic, you will support the council's democratic decision-making processes, supporting and advising the council, its committees, sub-committees, working groups scrutiny panels and other bodies. Your duties will also include assisting with the organisation of council elections and supervising a small team dealing with a wide range of democratic and administrative duties.,
- For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work. An HNC/SVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline, is essential together with considerable experience of committee work in a local government or similar environment. You will have a professional approach and the ability to act as Clerk to a Committee with a sound knowledge of the law and practice relating to council decision making processes with knowledge of local authority operations and administrative procedures. Good communication, interpersonal, organisational and motivational skills are essential. Supervisory experience is desirable. You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team who currently operate a hybrid model of home-working and office-based work at the Civic Centre offices in Motherwell.
