Depute Headteacher Primary (7/09143)

Lockerbie Primary School

DHT point 4 - £66,072

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and determined Primary Depute Head Teacher on a permanent basis.

You will have a key day-to-day operational role based mainly within the Primary building. You will also have a strategic leadership role, focusing on raising attainment and achievement - enabling all young people to achieve success. The role will have significant GIRFEC responsibilities.

This role is suited to someone with excellent personal classroom practice, a knowledge of curriculum, a love of children and someone who lives out the 6 nurture principles in their daily practice. We are seeking a candidate with a knowledge of GIRFEC processes and experience in working with children and families. Knowledge of curriculum and use of data will be key to this role.

At this time, our school is comprised of a large nursery, eleven mainstream classes and a large learning centre with pupils aged 5 – 18. We work closely as a team to nurture and support our young people, families, and community. Our staff strive to deliver an excellent experience to all learners.

If you aspire to be part of a creative and dynamic team, we would like to hear from you.

A significant relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful candidate. Please see attached guidance for further information.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
