Deputy Appraisal Lead (Secondary Care and Mental Health Services)

We are inviting expressions of interest in the above post from within our existing cohort of Consultants in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The successful postholder will support the Secondary Care Appraisal Lead and Deputy Responsible Officer in the operational management of the Appraisal and Revalidation process within Secondary Care & Mental Health Services.  Ensuring the Board operates a quality assured process for all doctors with a prescribed connection to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The successful candidate will be an established Consultant, ideally with previous medical management experience. As a NES trained appraiser with experience of medical appraisal, you will have the leadership qualities and ability to motivate and develop others to bring about real improvements in medical care through appraisal and revalidation.    Strong negotiating and decision-making qualities and the ability to inspire the confidence and respect of colleagues will also be key to success in this role.   

The post carries with it a time allowance equivalent to 1 programme activity (1PA) which will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
