Full Job Description

5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer.

If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.

5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A genuine interest in working with persons experiencing mental health problems, supported in a low secure environment, is essential.

In collaboration with the patient and Multi-Disciplinary Team you will have delegated responsibilities for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, ensuring that your clinical practice delivers high quality care.

Additionally this role will support the Senior Charge Nurse in managing the nursing team and providing clinical leadership.

You will display a positive attitude towards enhancing the care experience of service users. You will have a willingness to engage in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge base and be able to provide evidence of professional development.

Knowledge, training and / or experience required to do the job :

First level nursing qualification and current registration with the NMC, with evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience of working within the inpatient setting and of being nurse in charge.
