Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the lead engineer and client liaison for new design/build projects in the offshore oil and gas sector, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory standards.
• Develop detailed engineering calculations and validate designs using FEA software for topside and subsea structures.
• Collaborate with vendors to select components such as pumps, motors, and gearboxes, validating choices with calculations.
• Produce 3D concept designs based on client requirements and review fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Lead design reviews and generate test procedures and operational manuals for equipment.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in the design of fabricated structures for offshore/subsea environments, adhering to DNV standards.
• Proficient in modelling software (e.g., Solidworks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools (Solidworks or ANSYS).
• Familiarity with bolted and welded connection designs and rotating equipment design.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and experience with ATEX and hazardous area equipment design is a plus.
