Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Development Team as Development Assistant, helping to deliver much-needed affordable housing across the Scottish Borders.

You will provide administrative support for the Development Team and assist to deliver a high quality customer focused service, along with supporting the Development Team in all aspects of the Development function to ensure that the projects run efficiently and meet best practice.

You will provide professional and efficient administrative and office support on the full range of workload and activities carried out by the Development Team, ensuring that all internal and external stakeholders are kept fully informed about relevant Development activities.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Act as point of contact for Development enquiries from internal and external customers.

  • Maintain up to date Contractors and Consultants records and insurances and ensure that these are reviewed on a regular basis.

  • Develop, deliver and maintain a Development specific filing system.

  • Provide administrative support to team for all new development projects.

  • Effective customer communication in relation to Development Team contracts, ensuring a commitment to high quality and a customer focused service.

  • Assist with project handover ensuing great communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Process, report and monitor defects for all new build properties. Preparing monthly reports on performance of contractors.

  • As required attend construction sites for progress meetings, to assist the Clerk of Works or for other duties that can only be delivered from the site.

  • Administer post completion customer satisfaction surveys, collating and reporting on responses

  • Assist with the processing of contractor and consultant invoices and updating cashflows to allow payments to be made timeously.

  • Model and promote SBHA's values, effective communication and excellence in customer service.

  • Work independently and be ready to go the extra mile whenever it is needed.
