Could you work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to the development and delivery of our adult weight management service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietetic support worker to join Tayside Nutrition and Dietetic Service to contribute to the delivery of Tayside Adult Weight Management Service (TAWMS).

You will be joining a dynamic, proactive multi disciplinary team supported by Dietitians, Clinical Psychology, Physiotherapy, Dietetic Support Workers and administrative staff.

You will assist in delivering our recently developed Tier 2 and established Tier 3 weight management interventions. This will include delivery of in-person and digital groups. You will also provide some, one to one support via Near Me or telephone. In addition to the nutrition education, you will also support our physiotherapy service.  This post holder will provide some organisational and administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the service.

Some flexibility will be required as you will be expected to travel across Tayside to deliver services, some evening work will also be required on 2/3 days of the week. 

This post would suit an individual with good communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine interest in nutrition and healthy lifestyle. Previous relevant experience as a therapy assistant or equivalent in the health service or other agencies is essential. You should also have some experience of working with individuals to change health related behaviours is. You will require well developed IT skills and good planning and organisational skills.

Hours of work are: 37 per week

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
