As we transform our Nutrition and Dietetic service, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to step into an exciting leadership role. The post is for a Dietetic Manager to manage and lead the friendly and progressive Acute Care team in the Nutrition and Dietetic department based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Raigmore Hospital is the District General Hospital providing acute health services for the population of Highland.  

This Dietetic team has 8.5wte Dietitians, support workers and administration.  The post will lead and develop the team to ensure the efficient delivery of the service, and improve the visibility of Dietetics in the acute care setting.

The Acute care team is part of the wider Nutrition and Dietetic service which includes community and specialist services for all of the North Highland area and as such will have the benefit of a wide range of skills, knowledge and support with inter-departmental supervision and peer learning. We support Dietetic student ABC placements. 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, committed to high standards of safe, quality care. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate innovative ways of working, can work well in a team, and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, evidencing strong leadership to develop the service.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
